Colorado Springs is the biggest market I serve and the most competitive one to shoot in. It's also where the range is widest — downtown Victorians, mid-century modern, new construction on the east side, and estates out toward the Broadmoor.

Mid-century is its own problem

The Springs has a real stock of it, and it's easy to shoot badly. Exposed beams, clerestory windows, dark brick and low ceilings will fool a camera meter every time — you end up with blown-out glass and a muddy interior.

Flash and ambient blended fixes that. The wood reads warm, the brick keeps its texture, and you can still see out the windows.

What Springs listings usually need

More photos than Pueblo listings, generally — the homes are bigger and buyers are comparing more options. Thirty is the package most Springs agents book, and forty makes sense above about 2,500 square feet.

Drone helps on anything with a view of the front range, which out here is most of it.
